Today was, like the others, a complete advancement day. In this meeting, we found problems in our robot. Our scissor lift needs to be adjusted. We have the motor and gears at the bottom but must change its position to the middle for it to be able to lift. We also need to reduce friction by placing spacers between the metal.

Today we worked on our robots. We want to have a good and working robot in a few more meetings. We are doing well in our robots an we either are improving parts of our robot or we are finishing it up but are yet not done. We hope our robots turn out well when we go to compete. Our chassis is finished and works well. But we still have to complete our scissor lift. We had to move the gears and motor to the middle of the lift from the bottom because we were having problems getting the lift to work. Our teammates are also running into a challenge figuring out how their lift is going to work. They are building a cascading lift.
Today we worked on our robots. We mostly worked on our scoring mechanism for the Sky Rise. We also worked on the chassis or base. The chassis must have enough support to hold the scoring lift and scoring objects. The scoring mechanism has to be tall and strong if you want to make the best of the Sky Rise. Today some teams worked continued to advance on their robot scoring mechanism. Others worked on their chassis instead. Both having lots of progress and advanced significantly to their goal of their form of winning the VEX Sky Rise tournament. This meeting was very identical to the last one we had; building and improving. Today we did cool things. Today we learned how to make something cool with just a small strand of paper. Use the to ends of paper and put them together. Before you do that twist the paper once. After you connect the twisted paper, staple it or tape together. Use a pencil or pen and start from any point, continue on that path until you reach where you started. You will see that you you have traced all the sides. Also, if you start from an edge and go along the path, you will also touch all edges of the paper. This is a Mobius strip. We also tried to solve a puzzle where we had to move a ring from one side of a popsicle stick to another. It was hard for everyone. |
